February 5th was a particularly snowy day for Chicago. However it was no match for King Princess’s Cheap Queen Tour with Kilo Kish, which stopped over at The Riviera Theatre for a sold-out show. The show was packed to the brim — there was barely anywhere to stand. It was also, and most importantly, a night full of glitter, glam, and drag queens.

Kicking off the night was Florida’s art-pop artist Kilo Kish. Bringing an electronic pop feel to warm up the crowd. If you’re a fan of artists like Kim Petras, I highly recommend checking out Kilo Kush, for her upbeat and lively stage presence. In between sets there was a local drag queen who performed a quick number for the crowd in a dazzling rhinestone bodysuit.

Then the moment finally came, Miss King herself had arrived. Kicking off her set with “Isabel’s Moment,” “Tough On Myself,” and “Prophet,” the indie pop artist took the stage by storm. This past tour has been in celebration of King Princess’s debut studio album Cheap Queen, which dropped on October 25th. Mikaela Straus, the woman behind King Princess, delivered a stunning and energetic performance with a beautiful stage backdrop to perfectly set the mood for the evening.
