Atlanta based R&B singer, Raquel Lily, recently released her single from her upcoming album I’m Leaving called “Fuccboi.”

“Fuccboi ” describes the avergae dating stuggles of today, from unwanted dick pictures to the unfunny jokes, to cheap dates. The vibe of the song is callback to the R&B from the early 2000s, especially when the rapper Acoupstix came in for his verse, sound wise it’s an easy song to enjoy.

Raquel Lily’s voice shows a raw talent and skill that shows the early stages towards a recognizable voice. Elements of R&B and even a jazzy-soul filled tone is maintained throughout the entire song. Which is why “Fuccboi” will forever be a song that can be played in a smoky club or the quiet of your room and set the mood.

However, lyrically? Lily is out shined by the guest vocals which are what added flair to an overall average song. The song itself is the reacting response of someone who has dealt with one too many fu*k boys in the dating scene. However, the conversational vibe doesn’t have it’s intended effect until after Acouptix’s verse.

Now I still think this song has appeal, but I also think the song will fall more into the “fun” category or as a song you sing to that one ex that just doesn’t quite get it. However, having heard other songs by Raquel Lily, such as “I’m Leaving”, I know she’ll make her mark on the R&B scene.
