Charles Fauna recently released his newest single, “Always You”. In a time where we are self isolating, “Always You” is a hope that we can come together as a community in a hard time.

Fauna’s debut album, Yonder, released April 17th, follows a story of a young protagonist as she is a part of “Project Yonder,” where she leaves a now uninhabitable earth. Upon seeing the selfishness of the others she sets off and leaves for another planet on her own.

In “Always You” we find her on a planet of her own. On this planet she feels alone and is facing the unknown.  This song is a letter to her parents to explain her actions. As she does this she releases how insane and desperate her situation is. In the end she wishes she was home and falls asleep.

The track begins in a way that feels like jumping off a big cliff — it’s a rush. Despite the message of this song, you find that it is easy to listen and sing along to. A track like this never needs much to drag you into itself. The track’s beat gives off this science fiction feel that seems incredibly fitting to its context.

With Yonder having just been released, I feel almost certain that Fauna will end up on everyone’s radar very soon. It is hard not to hear a song like this on the radio. We look forward to his future.
