“Gutter Kid” is a track that has clear heavy hip-hop influences, the track feels very hyperpop. “Gutter Kid” is fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more. The track builds an anticipation, you’re kept waiting for a punch. This feeling however, adds to the imagery the song creates in the audience’s mind of a “fight scene”. As well as the layers in the track, the samples of bullet shells hitting the floor and cars screeching it sounds like a track straight out of a video game.

Not A Toy’s, “Gutter Kid” is not something you would expect out of Fearless Records, but the bold sound is absolutely a unique and nice change of pace nonetheless. “I think that was a dynamic thing because we tend to get bored,” Branson Hoog explains. Not A Toy is clearly paving their way through constantly creating new adventurous sounds, and I am excited to listen to what is next for Not A Toy because I know it will be something incredibly cool and different!
