KITTEN, an alternative band from Los Angeles, released their EP, Goodbye Honeymoon Phase, on October 18th, 2019.

This EP opens up with “Memphis”, a song with a soft tempo that gives the feeling of nostalgia and a strong love that makes someone want to “choose a house on the hillside,” much like a lyric in this track. This track has a contagious beat, and it is no surprise that it is one of KITTEN’s most popular tracks.

The second track goes by ‘ME’. In an interview with Billboard, front woman Chloe Chaidez goes onto say that her inspiration with this song was that she “wanted to depict her experience” from a Netflix show she had been on. This is definitely a song that can be played when you want to rock out in the car or in your room.

“Goodbye Honeymoon Phase” is the third track on this EP. This song opens up with a slower guitar tempo with soft words then gradually picks up into a slightly faster tone. With lyrics such as “every time we fall in love it feels like forever/till the castle turns into a cage”, this is easily one of my favorite tracks from KITTEN.

The fourth track, “Distraction,” comes in with a different sound than the previous three. It opens with a drum heavy electronic intro and then goes into a chorus with catchy lyrics. While this song carries a different tone than the previous three, it is still a very enjoyable track that I can see myself listening to on repeat.

The fifth and final track is titled “Friday’s No Fun Anymore.” This song is introduced with a slower nostalgic tone and then gradually transforms into a chorus that talks about wanting to have fun like you did when you were a teenager and wanting to have fun while you can. This song is an excellent way to close out an EP such as this one.
