Can you introduce yourselves and tell us a bit about the band?

Noah: For sure! We’ve got Kale Krumwiede on lead guitar, Nick Stotts on bass, the legendary Jedi Krumwiede on drums, and I play guitar and sing a bit! We’re all from the Tulsa area, and the concept started when Kale and I were 17 making up stupid band names purely as a joke. Babies on a Halfpipe was settled on sort of as a last resort, haha.

You dropped “Rambling” fairly recently, and “Garden Tools and Cat Litter” not long before that. Can you walk us through the process of making those tracks?

Noah: “Rambling” and “Garden Tools” were written right around the same time 2 years ago, so I’d say they are cut from the same cloth. I was personally experimenting with odd and big chords on guitar at the time. But where they differ is that “GT&CL” was written to be a vent for all the feelings running through me about my upbringing. Whereas “Rambling” is kind wrestling with the question, “can my feelings justified or are they purely hatred toward the way I grew up?” From there, Adam Woods from Oakwood Sudios really helped get those emotions of the songs recording. He’s incredible.

These are your first releases since “Lawn Chair” in 2021, and your EP in 2020. How did you guys keep the creativity flowing in that year off from releases in 2022?

Noah: To be honest, it was tough to keep creativity flowing. Last year was busy regarding our personal lives, but the best thing was just going to see our friends bands at shows! Every one was like a breath of fresh air. Also, Adventure Time helped a ton.

Is there another EP or a potential full length release on the radar for 2023?

Nick: We’ve got a little something planned in the late summer so keep a look out!

How do you stay connected to your local scene?

Jedi: Kinda repeating an answer, but definitely going to as many local shows as we can. We meet someone new at every one. There is always so much going on, so much to be a part of. We love going to Gypsy Coffee House and Thelma’s Peach and just hanging out! They support so much locally and it’s a joy to see.
