GGOOLLDD
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Label: Independent
Genre: indie, alternative, electropop
Meet The Artist: For GGOOLLD, the journey started off when frontwoman, Margaret Butler, packed all her things into a U-Haul truck, the day after she graduated from art school, and took a trip around the country, eventually landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. GGOOLLDD was originally established as an excuse for the members to host a party and have a good time, living under the ‘say yes to anything’ mantra. Summerfest was their first show in Milwaukee after almost a year, but the crowd they drew in was more than welcoming.
tiLLie
Location: Los Angeles
Label: Unsigned
Genre: Riot-grrrl, alt-rock, alt-pop
Meet The Artist: Since catching the attention of Machine Gun Kelly and Kevin Lyman in 2016, Grace Kelly, aka tiLLie, has recently become a fierce force in the anti-pop movement. tiLLie’s music is meant to inspire women to be outspoken and unapologetic. This theme is apparent in songs like “loud mouth,” “save yourself,” and “pink & blue.” She has explained that she likes to tell people the meaning behind her songs because she wants people to take the words she is saying to heart, as she mostly writes music based upon her life experiences. For example her song “hungover on a feeling” was written depicting how Kelly woke up the morning after the 2016 election feeling like it was just some bad hangover after a long night of drinking, unfortunately it wasn’t though.
