On a warm Monday evening in Philly, a youthfully eager crowd gathered at The Foundry. Anxiously awaiting the headliner, Zella Day, the room was full of joyful energy. To start off the evening, Okey Dokey opened up the stage and gave everyone a taste for the excitement in store. Starting in a frenzy of technicolor lights and floral stage decor, Okey Dokey warmed up the room immediately. Everyone was dancing and cheering along as vocalist, Aaron Martin, climbed the scaffolding adjacent to the stage. Closing the set with just as much gusto as the first song, Okey Dokey left the stage with the same amount of chaos as they entered.

After a brief wait for the stage to turnover, Zella Day came out to a blue wash of light. Starting her set with a dreamy rendition of “Purple Haze,” she played a great mix of older classics and new releases. Moving with a delicate stage presence, Zella Day performed as if she was cradling the room in loving sound. She swayed to the beat of each song while her shining silver bodysuit gleamed in the moody stage lights. The crowd caught the groovy wave of music and moved along to each song with her. Her set wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of the TikTok-sensational song, “Hypnotic”. Ending the night with a lovely encore of “Almost Good” and “Mushroom Punch,” Zella Day put on a stunning performance. With many US and Canada shows left on her schedule, Zella Day is a constantly growing artist to watch.
