Yung Gravy brought the Gravy Train through Kearney, Nebraska on Thursday April 27, 2023. The event was hosted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney at the Health and Sports Center. Students and community members filled HSC within three sections: GA Standing Pit, Lower Seats, Upper GA seats. The event was open to all ages.

Rapper Chevy Woods kicked off the night with a set of hits that of course included “Taylor Gang” that features the LA rapper. Woods got the crowd moving and interacting with them throughout the set, even lighting up the gymnasium with their flashlights to the back of the arena. The excitement was palpable as Woods closed out his set and the anticipation for Gravy built.

With 30 minutes to his set, Yung Gravy’s DJ, Tip, came out to get the crowd energy hyped up for the big show. He played a medley of throwback songs, played games with the crowd and had witty banter with audience members. This set the tone for the rest of the night, and after some loud chanting, the Gravy Train made its arrival.

It was obvious that Yung Gravy, the Minnesota native, felt right at home being in the midwest by how energetic and at ease the performance was. He kicked off the set with hits like “Oops” and “The Boys Are Back In Town.” The crowd was hooked from the start, screaming back the raunchy, silly, and slightly suggestive lyrics back to the social media sensation that is Yung Gravy.

The place to be in the arena was definitely the standing pit in front of the stage. The energy was up the whole show with loud singing, dancing and jumping from the crowd. Gravy kept the energy going between songs with favors for the crowd, signing a few Lunchables before tossing them out to lucky fans.

After a set packed full with nostalgia, gifts and catchy music that samples hits from the 70s, Yung Gravy flexed his boyish charm as he wooed the crowd one last time with roses passed out to audience members.
