Two time Academy Award winner and four time Grammy winner, Hans Zimmer, made his epic return to North America with Hans Zimmer Live on September 22, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois. Over 20,000 people gathered at the United Center to see the maestro and his band of world class musicians and performers perform his most iconic film scores. For two and a half hours, all in attendance were in utter amazement knowing they were witnessing something incredibly special.
Not only was the music exceptional but the entire production was the best I have ever had the privilege of seeing. The graphics displayed on monitors and light show perfectly complemented the music being performed not to mention the quality of the sound. My breath was taken away multiple times during the show solely because of the incredible sound – it has to be the best mix I have heard at a stadium show. For those familiar with Hans Zimmer’s work, his scores contain a kind of brutality and power when played. It has a commanding presence that all 20,000 attendees gladly stood at attention for to the point where you can count how many cell phones were in the air. Hans and his band truly mesmerized the audience and an occasional tear could be seen falling from their eyes.
This was a truly unforgettable experience. If you have the opportunity to attend a Hans Zimmer Live show, do not hesitate to go.
