Boys of Fall, Oh, Weatherly, and Never Loved originally hit the road together on April 1st, kicking off their tour in Albany, NY. On April 13th, the tour made a stop at Chicago’s Cobra Lounge. Playing alongside the three bands, there were two local acts; Four Stars and Late Nights to warm up the crowd.

Kicking it off was Four Stars, formerly known as, Tougher Than You Thought, performing songs off of their debut EP ‘Check, Please.’ The EP dropped back in October of 2018. The band also performed two new songs, ‘Small Faces, Small Places’ and ‘Alacrity’, which will be coming off their 2nd upcoming EP. ‘Small Faces, Small Places,’ as described by their lead singer, is about ‘not wanting to be alone, but not wanting to do something about it, and that’s okay.’ Since the band recently underwent a name change, they were giving out free Four Stars shirts to anyone wearing a TTYT shirt, which is pretty rad.

Late Nights was up next offering some acoustic rock with strong vocals from Michaela Kramer and Taylor Merrick. The band even delivered a cover of Burning Up by the Jonas Brothers, which was a nice nostalgic moment. A song that resonated with me was ‘Pluto,’ gives off the message of having dependency on someone that keeps coming in and out of your life, yet being the only one putting anything into a relationship.

Up next was Never Loved, who were recently signed to Equal Vision Records. The South Florida based band also dropped their debut, self-titled EP, Never Loved, just over a month ago. They are a pop punk band with catchy lyrics and good instrumentals, their debut EP is very well put together. Despite the band name, Never Loved definitely received some love from the audience. Putting all of this together I would not be surprised if we hear more about Never Loved.

Oh, Weatherly was next to perform. The band is from Dallas, Texas and through social media I had already heard quite a bit about them. A song they performed was ‘Chasing California,’which seemed to resonate with me the most. The song follows along the concept of the album, Lips Like Oxygen, which is about the lessons learned by, singer Blake Roses, and tributing the album to those who have impacted his life. Overall, their performance was on point and it is recommend that you check out their album.

Finally we had Boys of Fall take the stage. When they first took to the stage the crowd was cheering and ecstatic to the guys. The last time Boy of Fall played in Chicago was an acoustic show back in January at The Martian with Long Gone and Action/Adventure. “We’ve always considered Chicago to be a second home to us,” said, vocalist, Michael Martenson. Overall, Boys of Fall, along with the rest of bands on the lineup, delivered an entertaining performance and really kept the crowd moving.
