Touring their latest album Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night, Bleachers made Philadelphia’s TD Pavillion at The Mann their home.

Throughout the planning of this tour, frontman Jack Antonoff made it clear that safety was his priority. Therefore, all shows were hosted outdoors and vaccination cards were required for entry. The emphasis on safety did not go unnoticed and allowed Bleachers fans of all ages to enjoy the show.

The show opened with Claud, the first artist to sign to Phoebe Bridgers’s Saddest Factory label, performing hits off of their album Super Monster. The crowd was happy to join them in their angst, dancing along to “That’s Mr. Bitch To You”, throwing middle fingers up without a care in the world.

Next up were LA-based band MUNA. The band took the stage freshly tattooed to perform a mix of their biggest hits and some deeper cuts. Their energy was electric and guitarist Josette Maskin made sure that everyone was on their feet. Singer Katie Gavin delivered powerhouse vocals and guitarist and synth player Naomi McPherson took over Phoebe Bridger’s part in their latest single “Silk Chiffon”. The band sent an electric wave of energy throughout the venue.

When headliner Bleachers took the stage, the crowd erupted. With a setlist of deep cuts from their first two albums and new tracks from their latest release, vocalist and guitarist Jack Antonoff made it clear that Philadelphia was like a second home to him.

The entire pavilion was lit up for slow tracks like “Secret Life” where opener Claud joined the band onstage. For many, it was their first show back and the pent up energy of eighteen months in quarantine was finally let out.

Bleachers left everything on the stage, leaving the audience on their feet and singing their hearts out. It was the perfect way to return from a world without concerts.
