With the first breaths of Philadelphia fall kissing Callowhill Street on a September night, psychedelic artist Big Wild brought the city to life in a rigorous and technicolor performance.

Big Wild (aka Jackson Stell), released his most recent album “Wild Child” in late August. The subsequent Wild Child Tour graced Union Transfer on a Tuesday night. With bright lights and exciting energy pervading the sense of childish joy, there was so much to enjoy in the performance. Combining dynamic drumming and ethereal vocals,  Big Wild created an atmosphere of inner-child healing and emotional generosity.

The crowd was plastered with smiles and tears of joy as audience members ascended spiritually through the lens of the groovy music. Introducing elements of auditory looping and various drums, the room was rich with effervescent sounds. Strobing lights changed vivid colors to create a visual representation of the sound waves that the stage effectively emitted.

With multiple cities left on the fall tour, there is plenty of joy to be shared amongst United States crowds. If you are interested in 1960’s pop instrumentation mixed with modern psychedelic electronic musicality, you have an evening awaiting you at a city near you with the incredible artist Big Wild.
