After enjoying Amity Affliction’s set at Four Chord Music Fest I was beyond excited to experience them live at their own co-headlining show. The lights were dim, the crowd grew silent as the anticipation grew. Amity Affliction hit the stage at Amplified Live with bright flashes of blue and green lights capturing everyone’s attention, and the audience erupted! The venue was jammed packed, with audience members wrapping all the way to the back portion of the venue where there was very little stage to even see! That’s a dedicated crowd. The venue even had an upper deck portion where you could watch the stage from above, and you absolutely know it was also completely lined with fans.
“Coffin,” “All My Friends are Dead,” and “Don’t Lean on Me” were Amity’s opening songs, as a longtime fan of nearly a decade the band’s setlist was the perfect combination of old and new songs. Giving the crowd pieces of themselves from nearly ten years ago with tracks from albums “Chasing Ghosts” and “Let The Ocean Take Me”, but the crowd sang along as if these tracks just dropped yesterday. Amity was also sure to throw in more recent tracks from their 2020 album, “Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them”.
Amity Affliction is just one of those artists that can put any track from any album on their setlist and the crowd will know every word and enjoy every minute of it. Whether you’re a decade long fan or a new avid listener, Amity Affliction will no doubt have something for you to enjoy. “They’re just so good every time I see them!” and “They’re awesome!” are just some examples of what you’ll hear people buzzing about as you walk through an Amity Affliction show. Needless to say, you absolutely cannot miss the next Amity Affliction show near you!
