3OH!3, the pop-rap and electro-punk duo composed of Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte, jumped back into the ears of listeners with new music for the first time since 2021. 3OH!3 has soundtracked the summers of the mid 2000s with songs such as “DONTTRUSTME” and “My First Kiss’ and they are back at it again with this new single that is the epitome of summer.

The band just released a new song titled “SLUSHIE”, as well as a music video for the track. The song itself is definitely a hit. It had me singing along after the first chorus. Like a slushie, the song is gooey and sticky, and has the power of a brain freeze. The music video, directed by Cole Santiago, highlights this nostalgic, happy-go-lucky energy of the golden days of summer. Reminding you of the times where you would go around town, hanging out with your friends, drinking some sugary frozen goodness. The music video was shot on an old cassette camera, aiding to the nostalgic, memory-like feeling in the video. The band shares that, the video captures the sort of natural chaos that ensues when you and your homies have nothing to do but hit the corner store and see where the day takes you. The music video, like the band itself, captures the spirit of the early 2000s. Nothing has made me want a cup filled with cherry and blue raspberry freeze more.

3OH!3 is currently on tour with 2000s pop-punk band Simple Plan on their Bigger Than You Think! Tour along with Bowling for Soup and LøLø. They stopped in Richmond, Virginia at the brand new Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront, where I was able to see them perform.

The new Allianz Amphitheater was unveiled at the beginning of June but has already seen great success and hosted some incredible acts this summer. This show was one of the best that has been put on at the amphitheater this year. Allianz Amphitheater provided excellent views from everywhere from the pit, seats, all the way to any location on the lawn.

I remember listening to 3OH!3 in the 2000s and catching them a few times on the Vans Warped Tour, but I feel that time has only made this duo better. 3OH!3 started off their set with “PunkB*tch”, an energetic track that set the tone for what the band was going to offer for the night. With the band donning purple Colorado baseball tees, 3OH!3’s set was a home run. “SLUSHIE” was a whole different experience live. Everyone in attendance felt the carefree summer energy that the song is all about. 3OH!3 was electric. The whole crowd was jumping during “My First Kiss”, a track released in 2010 featuring Ke$ha. They definitely knew how to put on a good show. They made jokes and interacted with the audience, hyping them up for the rest of the night of music. Sean Foreman did some interpretive dancing during “Colorado Sunrise” or as he said “Cirque du Soleil in this bitch!”, as he was making his moves.

The band finished off their set as the sun casted a beautiful sunset over the city of Richmond. Everybody in the seats stood for their last song “DONTTRUSTME”, finishing the line “tell your boyfriend, if he says he’s got beef”, screaming “well I’m a vegetarian and I ain’t fucking scared of him”. They gave out their setlist to the crowd as they sang “the setlist you stole off the stage, the red and purple lipstick all over the page”. 3OH!3 really gave an incredible performance, as they ended off their performance, the crowd flashed their iconic hand symbol.

With their recent live performances and the release of “SLUSHIE”,  3OH!3 are ready to make a comeback. Give them a listen and relive the carefree days of your highschool days. You can follow along with 3OH!3’s tour dates and latest updates here: www.3oh3.com/.
