New York-based singer-songwriter America Jayne’s latest track, “Pretend”, is a dreamy and enchanting glimpse into her mind.

Jayne’s soft vocals and the track’s blissful instrumental transports the listener to a state of mind that can only be described as liminal and other-worldly. “‘Pretend’ is about living in a world of fantasy instead of reality. The song uses a dreamy soundscape to explore a relationship that could only reach its full potential in my head,” Jayne says.

The track perfectly embodies the fantasy feeling that she dove into this time around. Jayne notes that “from ethereal vocals to floating melodic lines, ‘Pretend’ invited the listener to sit in the make-believe world I crafted around this person and begs the question ‘Can I really be happy here?'”

“Pretend” gives listeners the opportunity to be transported into America Jayne’s mind. The warm, intimate track is packed with emotion and passion, and we’re excited to see what she will release next.

We highly recommend this release to fans of Daughter, Phoebe Bridgers, Soccer Mommy, and The Japanese House.
