Coming out of the New York music scene, Stefan Alexander released his latest single, “Photograph,” on January 17.

His silky voice sings over a soft R&B beat, going between a smooth falsetto and his dreamy chest voice. The song itself is quite sad, with lyrics describing falling in love with a photograph of someone he’ll never know. Some standout lyrics include “a photo won’t leave me, sneaking out while I am fast asleep” and “nobody’s falling for me, and I can’t help but sigh every time that I breathe,” showing the pure devastation that loneliness has brought Alexander.

This song presents the idea that it’s easier to love the idea of someone, but it’s much harder to deal with a three-dimensional person. Keep an eye out of Stefan Alexander and his EP, Cry Again, being released in the upcoming months.
