Teenage pop punk three piece Not Ur Girlfrenz recently released their new single, “Game Over.”

“Game Over” is definitely a song for those in angry breakups. It features lyrics such as, “You could have filled my heart if you weren’t so full of yourself,” calling out a self-centered significant other, and “Take all your lies and just turn around, and run to all your so-called friends,” for those we all know who value mediocre friends over their relationships. It even possibly references one of their newer singles from back in September, “Song About You,” with the lyric, “I didn’t even wanna write this song about you.”

The new track was accompanied by an arcade-themed music video. Singer Liv Haynes is at an arcade with a boy, but he’s not paying her any attention. Parts of the video show them inside a retro video game where he jumps out of the way of an approaching enemy and lets her get hit. Eventually, she’s fed up with his nonsense, and the video ends with a game over screen after her bandmates, bassist Gigi Haynes and drummer Maren Alford, get her out of there and defeat the boy.

Not Ur Girlfrenz is one of the youngest bands in the scene right now, but that doesn’t stop them from being one of the best and having a sound that packs a big punch. “Game Over” is further proof that they should not be overlooked based on their young ages.
