No Rome, born Guendoline Rome Viray Gomez, has been a sought after artist recently. From working closely with The 1975 to releasing 2 EPs in a little over a year, No Rome has amassed quite the discography. He released a single in early october called “Talk Nice,” with familiar vocoded vocals, yet less of an electronic instrumental. It was one of his best tracks to date.
At the very end of November, Gomez released another single, off of the forthcoming EP he is working on, titled “Trust3000” featuring R&B artist Dijon.
The song is about a long distance relationship, with revealing lyrics such as “are you cheating on me? / I’ve been gettin’ sad and a little lonely.” The repeating hook of “trust in me you’ll find / your own peace of mind” brings the listener through the chorus, accompanied by a layered beat that you could chill or dance to — or both. Dijon’s verse matches the track perfectly, his smooth voice blending with the track that Gomez co-produced.
No Rome’s music is forever evolving and while this has elements of his past two EPs, it holds its own with a less heavily produced sound. It’s clear that Gomez paid attention to small details when creating this track, from muffled singing under the verses to all of the intricate instrumentals that join the song as it builds. Keep your eye on No Rome; he isn’t going away anytime soon.
His upcoming EP is due to be released on Dirty Hit next year. Until then, you can stream “Trust3000” below.
