It is no surprise that some of the world’s favorite songs are those that center around speaking the truth on subjects that hit close to the heart. We love to have things to relate to. Nicki Tedesco, an LA-based singer/songwriter/bassist and fully independent hard rocker, captures that perfectly in her new song, “Trapped Inside”.

This song is all about the bad habit of becoming so self-absorbed of the way others view us that we lose our chance to be able to show our true authentic selves. With mentions of making up lies and fake stories, Tedesco makes it clear what this track is going to be about within the first couple of seconds. The angry lyrics set the pace for the song on how we are “trapped inside” of ourselves with no way to show who we truly are without being afraid of what others might think. Throughout the track, it shows the listener what it feels like to let go of doing so.

The heavy guitar riffs and the familiar tone of hard rock in the words she sings reminds me of the music that I grew up listening to, so it was no shock that I was going to enjoy this song.
