lovelytheband is a band from Los Angeles formed of Mitchy Collins (Vocals), Jordan Greenwald (Guitar) and Sam Price (Drums). They released their latest single, ‘loneliness for love’, on January 31st.

The song talks about trying to convince yourself you’re in love with someone just to fill a void, to feel less lonely. Collins mentioned in an interview with PEOPLE that “is about my constant struggle and cycle of doing that exact thing (…): I look to others to fill the holes I see in myself … I’m working on that.”

The songs reflect the inevitable on its lyrics: putting all your hope and expectations in someone just to feel something will lead to a bad taste on your mouth, it will never make you feel happy or whole. (“Her love seems sweet, but it tastes so sour – I’m trying to find myself inside someone // Anything at all not to feel alone // Anything at all just to feel whole // ‘Cause I keep mistaking loneliness for love“).

Collins admits it’s recurring nature on the pre-chorus when he sings “I’ve been here before // But this won’t be the last time.” & “I say that I will // But I’ll never change // I’ve been here before // But I’m still the same.” showing how one tricks themselves  to believe that it will be different this time.

“loneliness for love” automatically becomes another lovelytheband staple: upbeat, catchy, and gloomy but relatable lyrics. You can listen to the single on below.
