Seamlessly blending together influences of hip hop and alternative rock, Grammy-nominated producer boyband’s latest track, “Death Note,” featuring Billy Martin of Good Charlotte, showcases his versatility and dedication to his artistic direction.

“Death Note” track was designed to embody the feeling boyband gets when he hears an anime opening, and it’s pulled off brilliantly. The anime-inspired music video for the song dropped this Monday, March 2nd, and brings this connection to the next level, acting as a nostalgic throwback to the art style of 90’s and 2000’s anime, while also tying in elements of the modern anime editing style.

“Death Note” features Billy Martin of the legendary pop punk group Good Charlotte. While it seems like an unlikely collab on the surface, this track showcases boyband’s genre-bending abilities at their finest. “I’ve learned how to do every style, so I’m always just curating different vibes,” boyband states. “You have to be versatile when producing for others, it’ll take you far.”

The versatility he mentions has taken him far, in fact. Having been out for less than 24 hours, the “Death Note” video already boasts over 20,000 views and an impressive 220,000+ streams on Spotify since its release in late January.

It’s safe to say that boyband’s expertise and unique approach to music has already made him a standout producer, and will continue to do so in the future. You can check out the video for “Death Note” below.
