Ascribe is a creative collective focused on cultural commentary. The collective’s internal team publishes work digitally online and on social media, and physically through limited-run issues and zines. Work published through Ascribe Magazine focuses on pop and alternative culture, and the unique attributes that make up both.
Founded to break down barriers and give creatives a space to explore their passions, we provide a platform where writers, photographers, podcasters, designers, and multimedia creators can explore ideas, experiment, and connect with industry peers.
The goal of Ascribe’s collective is simple: to amplify emerging voices, highlight culture and what you have to say about it, and give creators the tools and knowledge to produce work that matters.
Whether you’re capturing a live show, dissecting fandom, or designing a zine, Ascribe is a space to share your work and grow your creative practice.
Joining the Collective
Joining the collective gives you access to a network of creatives and industry professionals, opportunities to publish your work, and a platform to explore your ideas without traditional media barriers.
Membership to Ascribe’s collective is as simple as joining our Discord. This collective is open to anyone who wants to create work they’re excited about and find a community that’s excited with them.
Membership to the collective is free. Ascribe is a passion project, run out of the pocket of our Founder. Because of this, all roles within the collective and publication are voluntary. You will not be compensated for submissions or published work. You will never be asked to pay a member of Ascribe for submissions or publications.
Collective Roles
Community Member: A regular member of the Discord server who is interested in the community around the work published. Ideal for those who may not want to publish their work through Ascribe’s publication and multimedia channels but still wish to network and explore creative resources.
Guest Contributor: Submit your works through Discord to be published by/in partnership with Ascribe. Want to collab on something you posted on socials? Need a publication to cover a specific event for? Wrote a thinkpiece on your favorite movie and need a place to put it? Have a video essay you want to put out into the world? This is for you.
Publication Contributor: Long-term creatives who routinely publish through Ascribe.
Staff Member: The internal team that oversees different aspects of the collective and its publication.

Ascribe’s team has been working in this space for 7 years. The publication has featured creatives around the world, and is known for the quality of work it puts out as well as the community and kindness that surrounds its team members.
Many of Ascribe’s team members have gone on to work for major labels and leading entertainment industry groups. Its internal staff is made up of a wide range of professionals who tour, market, and create content worldwide.
