Dayseeker is quickly becoming one of the most loved bands in the metalcore scene. With their blend of pop vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and driving beats, they have quickly become powerhouses in the scene. Sleeptalk is their fourth album, and their most cohesive to date.

The starting track “Drunk” is breathtaking, kicking off the album with powerful emotional intensity and raw honesty bursting from every single note. They grab your attention from the start, and refuse to let go with “Crooked Soul,” pulling you deeper into their control, as they mesmerize you with crushing riffs and haunting vocal melodies. The first two tracks set the tone for the entire record, showcasing the balance between brutal heaviness and gorgeous serenity. “The Color Black” sees the group crash through bouncy riffs and neck-snapping chugs, all the while reaching skyward with infectious vocal melodies; they continue this theme with “Gates Of Ivory”, jumping from spine-tingling choruses to spine-crushing breakdowns without breaking a sweat.

The first single off the album, and the title track, “Sleeptalk”, has the potential to be a radio hit. It hits you right in the gut with powerful lyrics and immediately memorable delivery.

Dayseeker have always been a force to be reckoned with, and they showcase it well on this album. This album sees them approach things in a slightly different way.

From start to finish this album is nothing short of incredible and immediately addicting; you want to listen to it over and over again.

Frontman Rory Rodriguez puts on a display that is nothing short of spectacular, performing with so much passion you can feel the emotion in his voice. Dayseeker has always been one of the best groups in the scene when it comes to writing such powerful lyrics; they make the listener feel what they’d hope them to, whether they’ve ever actually experienced anything even remotely close to a songs subject matter.

Dayseeker has never been one to shy away from their softer side, but they’ve fully embraced it more than ever on this album, and it has paid off in a significant way — this is who the band was always meant to be.

They have still brought the heavy, just in so many more varied styles and on so many more levels. They have created an album that perfectly embodies everything so amazing about Dayseeker. Sleeptalk delivers blow after devastating blow, as it effortlessly combines soaring harmonious glory with moments of unrelenting heaviness, shifting and evolving from hypnotic siren to feral beast with little to no warning.

If Dayseeker isn’t a name that you’re familiar with, this record is going to change that.

Dayseeker is currently on tour, and you can purchase tickets to a date near you here. You can stream Sleeptalk here.
