Cinnamon Spice Moscow Mule
“Now my life is sweet like cinnamon, like a fuckin’ dream I’m livin’ in”
In the infinite amounts of things I could create that would remind me of Lana Del Rey, I resorted to the simplicity of a Moscow Mule while adding a twist with the Cinnamon. The cinnamon represents the refreshing twist Lana Del Rey brought to the genre while also relating back to one of my favorite songs, “Radio” from her 2012 album, Born to Die.
Ginger beer is the base of every good Moscow mule. The ginger beer gives you alertness to your senses and is often a bonus in a cocktail when it comes to entertainment. This recipe requires you to make your own cinnamon simple syrup. While you won’t use the majority in this recipe, it can be stored in an airtight container and kept well in the fridge for a week. You can use light or brown sugar in the syrup, but I prefer dark brown sugar. For those who do not drink, this can be made virgin with non-alcoholic ginger beer, no vodka, and rose water instead of elderflower liqueur. If you’d like, you can also sub out the ginger beer for apple cider.
