Edgy, gritty, and passionate. These words are what come to mind when listening to Seven Spies’, “Chameleon”. The band’s debut single is about the different behaviors we as people feel we have to enact upon to navigate through our various different environments and situations in order to “fit in”. This song completely captures the feelings of constantly wanting to put on this outer face that shows the world everything is perfectly fine, but really you’re struggling to hide away your internal worries and issues.

Throughout the song, you can hear how the band is influenced by many diverse artists and how Seven Spies uses that to truly set their music apart. The raunchy and gritty guitar entwined with David Blomiley’s spectacular vocals the song is absolutely bewitching. The way the band is able to captivate their listeners by using the verse pieces to be alluring and then lead you into the bursting energy that is the chorus.

All in all, Seven Spies have made a definite splash with their debut single. Their sound is dynamic and really punches you with their conviction. “Chameleon” will definitely be a song added to my personal indie playlist, and I think many people will do the same as well. I cannot wait to see what else Seven Spies has in store.
