Julia Bhatt is a young up-and-coming artist from Miami, Florida. Julia’s recent single, “I’m Cool” is catchy and upbeat, and the lyrics hold a comforting message that vulnerability is healthy. “I only cry in a cool way,” obviously this is absurd — there is no “crying in a cool way.” Crying can be ugly, and is very vulnerable. The ability to cry is healthy. Julia uses her song to explain that crying doesn’t make you uncool or weak, it makes you human.

It would be wrong to try and simply tag Julia Bhatt’s music as pop or even indie — she is so much more than that. Her music can’t be fit into a mold; the style and sound is distinct and non constricting with varying elements coming into play. With that being said, the song is still very catchy and easy to hum and dance along to. This is powerful, not every song about vulnerability needs to be sad and dreary — it can be fun and happy! There’s not too many songs you can think of that discuss an intimate topic with sad connotation and turn it into something upbeat and catchy.

Julia Bhatt is innovative and creative, at only eighteen years old. She is an absolutely wonderful artist and is definitely on her way to making her mark in the industry. Certainly will be keeping an eye out for what she creates next!
