Hi, what a great performance, how are you feeling?
It was amazing! I was a little nervous because this was our first time visiting the US, but the crowd was amazing and we didn’t want to get off the stage.
Yeah, and even the crowd didn’t want you to get off stage! They were chanting for one more song at the end when you were taking a group picture, so how did it feel hearing that?
Really amazing because it gave us so much energy.
So, as you know Head in the Clouds is a festival known for highlighting Asian culture and diaspora—how does it feel to play at a festival whose goal is to highlight that in front of a predominantly Asian audience?
Actually, we were really really nervous because we are the only metal band, so we thought that everyone didn’t want to watch us and we were not famous here, but we were wrong, they were so excited.
Yeah, they were really excited. That must’ve felt great!
Congrats on the release of your debut album RETAS. How does it feel to finally have that album out after making songs for so many years?
We are so happy because we waited so long, very long, like more than five years for this album. Finally, one of our biggest dreams has come true.
Speaking of your album, since it’s your first album and you have over 5 years of songs, how did you decide which song would make it and which wouldn’t?
One of our favorite tracks is our song “What’s The Holy (Nobel) Today?” It’s like a campaign to stop hatred, bullying, and war, and we felt that the energy of the song is really, really amazing and hope the listeners can feel it.
They definitely can. I watched your performance, and it was great.
Really? Thank you so much.
Yeah, it was very great. Even in this heat, everyone still was making it to your set, headbanging, and jumping. You’re in the midst of your first-ever US tour, so which stop are you most excited for?
Sadly, two states were canceled, but we still have nine and are so excited for all of them. Tomorrow, we will go to Chicago.
Are you gonna try the deep-dish pizza? Chicago is famous for their deep-dish pizza.
Our tour manager said that we have to try the pizza.
If you woke up one day and there was no such genre as metal, what genre do you think you would play?
Reggae, r&b, jazz.
Is there anything you feel like you have to do before performing?
We like to do some stretching, eat some fruit, talk too much, and can’t forget to drink soda. We need a lot of sugar.
Is there anything else you would like your fans or people who come across you to know?
Just do whatever you want to do and do anything, just be confident and be yourself, and don’t stop.
